The Beckstead annual Oscar party is the new awesome
The Becksteads host two major holidays each year. Thanksgiving, and Oscar Sunday. This year they invited everyone over and we watched the entire show on their super sweet ginormous TV that I'm sure is totally high def and any other cool thing a TV can be. We all pot-lucked appetizers and snacks had the best night. The Becksteads do it up right...we all fill out ballots...there is Oscar trivia...there is Oscar BINGO...and this year there was a costume contest.
Rebecca, Steve and I came up with a great idea that capitalized on the fact that Steve is 1/2 Mexican. Maybe you've seen Babel?

...the Mexican nanny in charge of the two little scared white kids.
Our only real competition was Nate who came wearing his free Little Miss Sunshine t-shirt that we got one day while bike riding in the Marina. Obviously our Babel costume took first prize and we each walked away with a DVD of our very own.

and we stayed in character all night, so steve wouldn't stop saying ¡Ayúdame! and betsy kept making him carry her all over the place.
