Tune ups are the new awesome

Sometimes you love your ibook so much.
But sometimes your ibook gets so tired.
And when it gets so tired it starts to tell lies.

"Hey ibook! I'm so glad you're fully charged with a glowing green power cord light thingy!"

Wait a second...that doesn't say 100%!

I tried this remedy provided to me by my own personal Genius.

Instructions:
1. If the computer is on, turn it off.
2. Reset the power manager by simultaneously pressing and then releasing Shift-Control-Option-Power on the keyboard. Do not press the fn (Function) key while using this combination of keystrokes. (Because why? But, ok.)
3. Wait 5 seconds.
4. Press the Power button to restart the iBook computer.

It didn't work. So it was time to break up with my old battery and buy a new one.

"Hey ibook, I'd like to introduce you to new fancy battery. I think you two will be very compatible."

100% has never looked so pretty.

Also, what was up with the super odd voice-over commentary on tonight's lame Lost clips show?

Also Part II, all the Mission Impossible 3 commercials are making me so excited!

was it worse than the really lame voice-over on the weak Grey's Anatomy clips show last week? Clips shows are the new lame.

two questions from a fellow iBook haver:

one, how long have you had your iBook?

two, how much did the new battery cost you?

question within a question, how did you make up that seemingly arbitrary fix method and who is your favorite abstract painter?

My ibook is 2 years and 2 months old.
    New battery cost $129.
The seemingly arbitrary fix method is not arbitrary at all. My friend Greg is the Lead Genius at the Apple store in Santa Monica and that's how you reset the battery. That's the official fix.

Also, I have no favorite abstract painter. If that changes, I'll let you know.

    betsy,

i appreciate the information. did your friend tell you that it's pretty common for your battery to need help after the aforementioned passing of time?

i guess i'm just trying to prepare myself for the inevitable demise of my own. you know, start the mourning process now.

yep...he told me that batteries will wear out. get old. get tired. need replacement. usually after about 2 years or so.

    sounds like a missionary.

then the battery starts staring at airplanes longingly and finds the prospect of hanging out with female batteries increasingly enticing.
