Pismo Beach is the new awesome

My family likes to rent a beach house with some friends of ours in pismo beach every summer, so last weekend we found ourselves back on Surf Ave. Happy family.

There is always a debate about the best thing in our Pismo Beach trips. Some would argue that it is the quaint wooden cabin house that we stay in, the interior of which has probably not changed since the 70's.

Some might say that it is the Splash Cafe.

Because their clam chowder in a bread bowl is pretty much the best thing ever.

Or maybe it is the matching storm trooper helmets that the guys we rented ATVs from gave us.

No big deal. Just riding our ATVs around looking for the Death Star.

Some might say that it is that we got to eat reeses flavored klondike bars for breakfast (no lie. thanks, mom)

But probably my favorite part of the trip is reading all the new nerdy graffitti that is on the walls every time we come. The ceiling where the kids get to sleep is slanted, and hangs so low that it obviously proves irresistable to all the juvenile delinquents that have stayed in this house in the past because it is covered in cyptic scrawlings. But it seems that mostly there are nerdy juvenile delinquents.

Like these kids that drew a scientific diagram to prove that they were friends:

Or the kids obviously obsessed with Final Fantasy (this one reads "Titus Rules! ps. I love him"):

And this one says "Zidane Tribal is so kawaii." For those of you out of the loop, "kawaii" apparently translates into "cute" in supernerd. And Titus and Zidane are final fantasy characters.

No gang messages. No death threats or crudely drawn body parts. Mostly nerd stuff. At least there was a little normal graffitti as well. Did you guys know that Brooke, Kami, Brittney and Amber are totally Sluts?

reba, i'm born anew in your genius.

i liked the friend diagram, and it's nothing personal that alex's circle is smaller than the others... he's just a little guy.

those helmets are totally storm trooper gear, i bet it was so hard to resist talking like lord vader all day, i know i would be.

oh, and i totally thought pismo beach was a fictional place as the only time i ever heard about it was when bugs bunny was errantly digging holes looking for pismo beach, but inevitably wound up in a delightfully wrong destination. cue good times.

I'm glad we finally got it on the table that Brooke, Kami, Brittney and Amber are total sluts. I didn't know if anyone else was going to bring it up.

your storm trooper helmet makes me think of new year's eves in the 80's, watching the star wars trilogy, drinking liters and liters of 7up, eating potato chips and onion dip, and having a huge crush on none other than boba fett... maybe it would help revive me and ben's romance if we went on a trip to pismo beach (aka Tatooine- uh, i totally sound like a star wars geek now... shoot...)
